U.S. Embassy in Tunis Begins Processing Libyan Immigrant Visas

Last Updated: March 4, 2019

The U.S. Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia has been designated as the primary site to process immigrant visas for Libyan nationals residing in Libya. Due to visa restrictions placed on Libyan nationals by the Government of Morocco, The U.S. Embassy in Casablanca will no longer be a designated site for Libyan nationals residing in Libya. April 2019 marks the first month the National Visa Center will began scheduling Libyan nationals residing in Libya immigrant visa interviews at U.S. Embassy in Tunis. All impacted applicants will receive a notification with a new case number. NVC will send appointment notices for all future visa interviews at the U.S. Embassy in Tunis.

Once your documentation on your case is complete, NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy in Tunis to schedule an immigrant visa appointment. When scheduling appointments, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available; NVC fills these appointments in a first-in, first-out manner. Please contact NVC through the Ask NVC online contact form for your updated status.
