About our processing times
Mailing times are not part of the processing time. Consider the total time it will take to receive your passport when you are booking travel.
It may take up to 2 weeks for your application to get to us. Add another 2 weeks for you to get your new passport after we mail it.
You may get your passport on a different date than your family member or friend who applied on the same day.
Our processing times may change because of increased passport demand or other factors. Our busiest time is between late winter and summer. Plan ahead and apply when we are less busy between October and December.
If we send you a letter or email requesting more information, respond as soon as you can. If we need more information, it may take longer to process your passport.
