Report Visa Fraud

Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Rubio, the State Department takes all allegations of visa fraud or misuse very seriously, thoroughly reviewing all reports of visa fraud or misuse and taking prompt and appropriate action to fully enforce U.S. laws.  

We encourage members of the public to provide any and all information regarding potential fraud or misuse of U.S. visas for immediate investigation.

Please provide the most complete information you have about the potential visa fraud or misuse. The more identifying information you include in the report, the more likely it is to result in a successful investigation.

This form may be submitted anonymously.  However, providing your name and email address allows us to follow up with you if we have questions about the information you provided.

Reporting Other Incidents

If you need to report other criminal or illegal acts not related to America’s legal immigration system, or if you are reporting something that you believe may be an imminent national security or public safety threat, contact the appropriate government agency or local law enforcement authority directly or see the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Report Incidents page for more information. You may report human trafficking tips to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.

Purpose: The Department may use the information you provide to initiate and/or support a law enforcement investigation and review of immigration actions. The Department may use your personal information, if provided, to contact you for additional details about your tip.

Agency Disclosure of Information: The information you provide may be shared internally for any appropriate official purpose. The information you provide may also be shared with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and foreign law enforcement agencies in order to refer reports of suspicious activity, tips, potential violations of law and other relevant information to those agencies with appropriate jurisdiction, authorities, and need-to-know concerning the matters(s) you report, or as otherwise required by law. If you are a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident, your information may be disclosed in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. § 552a.
