The Haitian Immigration Office informed the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince that the passport printing issue is resolved and Haitian passport production has resumed. Similarly, all documents submitted for review at the Ministry of Interior are being processed. We know this issue has caused unexpected delays. The Haitian government does not permit a waiver to the requirement for a passport. Haitian authorities have been clear that adopted children must depart with Haitian passports. The Department of State continues to communicate to Haitian authorities the importance of prioritizing adoption cases.
