ARMENIA - Foreign Authorization

Last Updated: August 8, 2022

To support the viability of intercountry adoption as an option for permanency for children in Armenia, the Office of Children’s Issues and the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan sought information from the Armenian Central Authority regarding its legal requirements for the authorization of adoption service providers (ASP), pursuant to Article 12 of the Hague Adoption Convention.

Armenia ratified the Convention on March 1, 2007, and it entered into force on June 1, 2007.

Currently Armenian law does not require U.S. ASPs to obtain authorization to provide adoption services in Armenia.

ASPs with questions about the information below or about pursuing authorization in Armenia should contact the Armenian Central Authority in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. Vazgen Sargsyan 3/8 YEREVAN 0010, Republic of Armenia
