Passport Service in Puerto Rico Resumes

U.S. Passports

Passport Requirements

San Juan Passport Agency

On Monday, November 6, 2017, U.S. passport acceptance service resumed at 11 locations in Puerto Rico.

11 Locations Open to the Public

The locations closed after damage from Hurricane Maria forced the U.S. Department of State to cease passport services to protect the integrity of the application process and security of customers’ personally identifiable information documents.  The U.S. Department of State worked with the U.S. Postal Service and the Puerto Rico Department of State to restore passport services as soon as it was secure to do so.  Further locations will reopen once the U.S. Department of State is able to certify those facilities are able to securely accept and transmit applications.
