Alternative Method of Payment: Mail a Cashier's Check or Money Order
If you are unable to pay online you must pay by cashier’s check or money order:
- You will need the Fee Bill(s) provided to you by the NVC bearing the applicant's case number and bar code. Note: If you have misplaced your fee bill, please contact the NVC. DO NOT send a fee payment without the fee bill.
- Place the Fee Bill(s) along with a cashier's check or money order made payable to the Department of State in an envelope addressed to the NVC.
- Affidavit of Support (AOS) Payments MUST be mailed to the following address:

- Immigrant Visa (IV) Application Processing Fee Payments MUST be mailed to the following address:

St. Louis, MO 63179-0136 - AOS and IV fees can be paid together. Make sure the cashier's check or money order is prepared for the total dollar amount
of the fees. Again, all payments must be accompanied by the corresponding Fee Bills. Mail the combined fee payment to the

- The NVC cannot accept personal or attorney/firm check(s).
- If you wish to send your payment via an overnight mail courier service, please note that only the U.S. Postal Service provides such delivery service to post office boxes.
- Use only the addresses specified above for fee payments.
- Send only the payment and fee bill to the St. Louis, MO address.
- Do not send any other documents to the St. Louis, MO address.
- Do not send any documents to the Portsmouth, NH address until they are requested.
- Do not forget to put the correct postage on the envelope.
- Write the applicant's case number in the memo section of the check.
- After the check/money order has been cashed, the NVC will mail you instructions for completing the next step in the immigrant visa process.
Note: If it is the applicant's intention to adjust status with Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), please contact the National Visa Center before taking further action or making any payment.
