On February 28, the Department advised ASPs and families of the Haitian Government’s plans to process and issue passports for adoptive children at the Central Immigration Office in Port-au-Prince. As of March 10, 27 passport applications have been processed. However, the Department is not aware of any passports being printed and the Haitian Government has not provided an expected date for issuance.
The Embassy continues to engage the Haitian government locally and the Department will continue do so at the highest level to address the passport issue for adoptees.
