June 26, 2014, Relative Adoptions Conference Call for Adoption Service Providers

The Department of State, along with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), will host a call for adoption service providers on Thursday June 26, 2014, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm to address issues encountered by U.S. citizens seeking to pursue an overseas adoption of a relative child. In particular, we will discuss questions regarding the Universal Accreditation Act’s impact on processing relative adoptions.

Advance Registration required

Please register for this conference call no later than 10 am Eastern Daylight Time on Tuesday June 24, 2014, by sending an email to AskCI@State.gov with the subject line “Register for Relative call.”  In the body of the email include your name, the name of the adoption service provider you are representing, and whether you will be calling internationally. Once we receive your email we will send you the call-in information. Please note that the number of call-in lines will be limited according to the number of registrants. While we will make every attempt to include all interested parties, if you do not register for the call by the above deadline, you may not be able to access the call.

Input requested

We invite participating adoption service providers to send us input and questions in advance of the call. We welcome example scenarios for discussion. Please send your questions and input via email with the words “Input for Relative call” in the subject line to AskCI@State.gov by Friday June 20, 2014.

Reminder:  UAA guidance
